The International Network of Women Against Tobacco (INWAT) in partnership with the World Health Organization (WHO) will be hosting a pre-conference workshop on International Women’s Day.

Background: |
INWAT is a global network of over 1800 tobacco control specialists in 100 countries dedicated to achieve improved health and greater equality by addressing the complex social, cultural, health and economic issues of tobacco as they affect women and girls. INWAT is a recognized entity within the international tobacco control movement and a NGO in official relations with the WHO. The Network functions to connect women and men working on women, girls and tobacco issues to conduct research, education, collaborative activities and information-sharing.

Symposium goals: |
The pre-conference symposium: From Kobe to Mumbai – What’s Next for Women and Tobacco? will present progress made in the area of women and tobacco control since the 1999 Kobe Conference and identify challenges left to overcome. The symposium will also showcase examples of projects from around the world and the current resources that address global challenges in women and tobacco.
The 2nd Edition of the Women and Tobacco Monograph, will be launched and the world renowned Art 4 Health Exhibit will unveil its new paintings\on women’s tobacco use.
