Background |
Global Dialogue for Effective Stop Smoking Campaigns is a collaborative initiative among 16 partner organizations (NGOs, governmental agencies and private organizations) focused on increasing the impact of public education/mass media campaigns to reduce tobacco use and exposure to secondhand smoke. Global Dialogue compiles and synthesizes lessons learned, provides individual campaign consultation, and develops and disseminates campaign development resources. www.stopsmokingcampaigns.org

Goals & Agenda |
The goal of this workshop is to provide campaign planners from departments of health and NGOs with the information and resources needed to develop effective tobacco control public education/mass media campaigns. The agenda includes:
- international lessons learned about content and approaches of campaigns, including findings from recently completed review of secondhand smoke campaigns.
- overview of international campaign development tool kit, including distributing copies to participants
- presentations from campaign managers about their own campaign experiences
- advice and best practices for campaign research and evaluation.
There is no registration fee, and lunch will be provided. A more detailed agenda will be provided as soon as it is available.
