Business and Shopping Hours

Offices and business establishments are generally open from 10.00 a.m. to 5.30.p.m, Monday to Friday. Shops are generally open from 10.00 a.m. to 8.00 p.m. from Monday to Saturday. Big shopping centers are open everyday from 11.00 a.m. to 9.00 p.m.
Climate

Since Mumbai is a tropical coastal city, the weather is warm and humid year round. Night temperatures in the first week of March reach 16 °C and days reach 33 °C. By mid March the 24 hour temperature ranges between 19 °C min and 37 °C max. Warm clothing and raincoats are not required, light cottons are recommended. The Convention Centres and hotels are air-conditioned.
Currency & Foreign Exchange 
The currency in India is the Rupee, which comes in denominations of 1, 2, 5, 10, 20, 50, 100, 500 and 1,000. Please use authorised money changers and banks to change currency. They will issue a certificate of exchange which is required at the time of re-conversion of any unused currency. It is illegal to exchange foreign currency other than through authorised money changers or banks. The rupee has been fluctuating between 1US$ = Rs 45 to Rs 47. The current exchange rate can be found from www.xe.com.
There are 24-hour ATMs all over the city
Normal commercial banking hours are from 10 am to 4 pm, Monday to Friday. Banks are closed on weekends and on public holidays.
International Telephony

The Country Code for India is ‘91’ followed by the Mumbai City Code ‘22’, followed by the telephone number, e.g. 91 22 XXXX XXXX. The international access code when dialing out of India is “00”.
Language

English is widely spoken in Mumbai and the rest of the country, except in rural areas.
Local Time

Indian Standard Time (IST) is GMT + 5.30 hrs.
Power supply

The voltage in India is 220 volts. Wall sockets accept two or three (with earthing) round pins. Hotels will provide plug adaptors on request, subject to availability.
Personal Property

Please take good care of your personal property. The organisers and staff at the venues are not responsible for any loss or damage to personal property.
Tipping

There is no compulsion to tip anyone for any service rendered. If you choose to do so, the traditional tip is 10%, rounded off to the nearest convenient note.
No Tobacco Policy

The conference is strictly a tobacco free event.
