Visa and Customs

Visa

All participants need a valid passport and a visa. Visas are not available on arrival. Participants should contact the nearest Indian embassy or consulate to check visa requirements.

Visa forms and fees for India vary slightly depending on the country in which the Indian Embassy / Consulate or High Commission is located.

Timings and closed days of the various Indian embassies also vary from country to country.

It's best to google for "India Visa ccc" where ccc is the capital city of the country where you live.

Currency

The currency in India is the Rupee, which comes in denominations of 1, 2, 5, 10, 20, 50, 100, 500 and 1,000. Please use authorised money changers and banks to change currency. They will issue a certificate of exchange which is required at the time of re-conversion of any unused currency. It is illegal to exchange foreign currency other than through authorised money changers or banks. One dollar is roughly equivalent to Rs 39 - subject to minor fluctuations, of course.
